A coalition of youth group in Sokoto state has thrown their support behind the state governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, describing him as an asset to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Sokoto state and Nigeria in general .
In an interaction with the media over the weekend, a youth leader, Comrade Danjuma Usman Tanze emphasised thatTambuwal’s performance in the PDP Presidential primaries and the subsequent automatic ticket granted to him by his party has confirmed the group’s confidence in the governor is well placed.
Tanze who is leader of Youth Coalition of Non-Indigenes in Sokoto State noted that while the league of searching for candidates that will install a new government by the PDP in 2019 was gaining momentum, the coalition was gauging the contestants in terms of their policy thrust and content.
“His Excellency, Governor Aminu Tambuwal who enjoyed (and still does) our admiration because of his pedigree in governance and the quest for a robust leadership in the country that will guarantee security, strategize capacity building, step-up production and export value added products in order to stimulate growth and also reap from globalization.
“We thereby canvassed for Tambuwal in lieu of being a visionary who strives to stirrup political and developmental visions and over arching philosophy that sokoto citizens have related and associated with.
“He has projected an economic ideology that addresses current needs, provides hope about the future and assures of self actualization opportunities and abundance for all”, he added.
The group also congratulated Tambuwal for constituting Local Government Transition Committee and urging the committee members to be prudent with public funds.
According to him, Tambuwal has pioneered efforts which have translated into concrete achievements in infrastructure, improved health care services, agricultural incentives, special attention on girl child enrollment by about 35%.
He also scored the administration of Tambuwal very high in guaranteeing security of lives and property which have impacted positively on businesses and livelihood.
“This feat has further blossomed your capacity and nationalistic posture. With the same can-do spirit, you have created jobs and tranquility in sokoto, taking advantage of your wealth of experience in pro market policies. You have flown the flag of sokoto and the Sultanate to the national stage in a manner that fills our hearts with pride and inspiration”, the coalition said.
