TThe World Bank says it is ready inaugurate Livestock Production and Resilience Support Project under its Fadama III Additional Financing Project, in Bauchi State.
The project Task Team leader, Dr. Adetunji Oredipe, made this known in Bauchi, when the team paid a courtesy visit to the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr Yakubu Kirfi.
Oredipe said the project was aimed at strengthening livestock production and improving resilience of farmers and livestock in general.
The Team Leader added that the project would also be implemented in some selected states of the country, based on the bank’s criteria and eligibility.
Oredipo also stated some of the criteria to include documentation of past projects on livestock production, livestock strategy of the state and the will and potential of the state within the time frame, among others.
He therefore called on the state government to pay its outstanding counterpart contribution to enable it benefit from the projects.
