The Department of State Services has maintain it stands on it continuous detention of the Nigerian Human Rights Activist, Omoyele Sowore that it can not release him to protesting mobs.
Briefing journalist in Abuja, the spokesman of the service, Nnochirionye Afunanya said the service can not allow Sowore without its administrative procedure.
He admitted that though the court order was received by the service but no body has come to undergo the said administrative procedure for him to be released.
Afunanya sighted an instance of Nnandi KANU who was released without the procedure is at large and no one to be held responsible, adding that the service has no doubt to maintain its stand to protecting the nation and Nigerians.
Sowore was arrested on August 3, 2019 by the DSS for alleged treason after calling for a protest tagged RevolutionNow.
The service is however calling on Media practitioners to support agencies that protect the interest of Nigeria and should not be allowed themselves to be used as a tool to cause Maline the integrity of Nigeria, noting that misinforming the people through the use of social media in order to cause mehelm will not do the country any good.
