Today in Mbaabunde, Mbakuha Council Ward of Ushongo local government, I officially parted ways with APC and rejoined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Democracy is simply doing the will of the people and PDP best represents the interest of the Mbakuha people.
My reason for my leaving the APC is hinged on the inability of the APC-led federal government to address the insecurity in the country, making Nigeria the third most terrorised country in the world.
The activities of Fulani Herdsmen, criminal bandits, kidnappings and all kinds of criminal activities have really destroyed the image of the country before the international community.
This to me is an embarrassment to corporate governance and failure on the Buhari led federal government.
Again, I remember the failed promise of the federal government to resettle IDPs displaced in their ancestral homes by Fulani Herdsmen.
Instead of resettling the IDPs in Benue State as promised in 2018, the federal government has abandoned the IDPs but is fully involved along with the World Bank and donor agencies in Borno State.
Another important issue that necessitated my departure is the total failure of the federal government to manage the economy.
Look at the astronomical rise in the price of food items and other commodities in the market today. How much is the exchange rate between the Naira and the dollar today? What was the exchange rate in 2015? Why is Nigeria recognized as the poverty capital of the world despite the resources we have.
Since the federal government cannot use security agencies to defend us, it is time to look inwards for ways to defend ourselves from the Fulani invaders who are bent on taking over this land.
This to me is a clarion call for all Benue sons and daughters to join hands with Governor Samuel Ortom to resist the invaders and move the state forward.
