A Karmo Grade I Area Court, Abuja, on Monday sentenced a 23-year-old vulcanizer, Isa Nurudeen, to four months’ imprisonment for causing grievous hurt because of sachet water.
The Judge, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, pronounced the judgment after Nurudeen, a resident of Utako Village, Abuja, pleaded guilty to a one count charge.
The Prosecutor, Mrs Ijeoma Ukagha, had told the court that Mr Samson James of Utako Village reported the case at the Utako Police Station on Sept. 28.
Ukagha said that Nurudeen bought sachet water worth N1200 from James, but refused to pay for it.
She said that when James asked for the money, Nurudeen hit his head with an empty Coca cola bottle.
Ukagha said that the complainant sustained a deep cut and was rushed to the Wuse General Hospital for treatment.
She said that the offence contravened Section 241 of the Penal Code, Law.
