In line with his administration’s plans to boost agriculture in Plateau State, the state Governor, Simon Lalong has promised to train farmers on modern agricultural practices and innovations.
The Governor who said this during his visit to the Green House Horticulture in Bleiswijk, Wageningen University Netherlands, stated that he was confident the training would enhance conflict resolution, peace and development in the state.
Lalong further stressed that that plateau state had embraced the country’s focus on agriculture as a means of economic diversification.
He said his “visit to Wageningen University and Research (WUR), gives me the opportunity to learn from experts and researchers in the Netherlands, which is a major food exporting country, second to the United States.”
“It is also an opportunity to see how we can train more Plateau people and encourage those who have gained such international exposure and knowledge to bring their experience home.’’ he added
