Newly sworn in Chairman of the All Progress Congress(APC), Adams Oshiomole has pledged to repositioned the party ahead of the 2018 general elections.
Oshiomole made this known during the formal handing over to the new national executive council of the party on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said the party will need to have a private convention to look at its manifesto and performance so as to differentiate between promise and reality.
According to him, “we should institutionalise debate. We must not be discussing on where we come from or our religion rather we should come up with conventions that will help to improve the lives of all Nigerians. We should celebrate how smart we are, he added”.
The new chairman of the party said he will ensure the party establish a Progressive Institute to enable leaders and members of the party have ideology of progressive politics for the good of the country.
Earlier, the out gone chairman of the party, John Oyegun while congratulating the new chairman prayed that the Oshiomole led tenure be a distinguished one.
