As part of efforts to impact positively on the fortunes of his constituents, the House of Representatives member for the good people of Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Bamidele Salam has launched a micro-grant scheme for women.
Hon. Salam made the announcement today, 27th of June as part of his activities to mark the International Day of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) declared by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The day is set aside to recognise the crucial role played by small businesses in job creation and general economic wellbeing of human communities.
In his words:
“I have therefore chosen this Day to formally launch a micro-grant support for women in my Federal constituency.
“As a son of a petty trader, food seller woman, I understand the pressure faced by millions of women in our society who frantically seek for monies as small as N5,000:00, N10, 0000:00 to N50,000:00 to support their businesses.
“This initiative will therefore support such women with small grants to either start or grow their businesses and improve their earning power.
“I celebrate the uncommon will, creativity and sheer energy of all small business owners and wish them all a happy World Micro, Small and Medium sized enterprises Day 2020”.
