Miss Francisca Mlumun Ordega, a Gboko born professional footballer with CSKA Mosco – Russia who plays for The Super Falcons and ten clubs across the continents has appealed to parents and caregivers to allow and support their female children to actualize their dreams saying she suffered discouragement when she started pursuing football career thus she understands how the girl child suffers in achieving targets.
She made this recommendation during her Foundation (FRANCISCA ORDEGA FOUNDATION) celebrations of 2021 Christmas and New year with Widows and Women in Gboko were she donated one hundred bags of twenty-five kilogramme rice and vegetable oil to the aged, widows and women with disabilities for Christmas celebration.
While Making the Presentation to the selected women across Tiv speaking local governments in Gboko on behalf of Francisca Ordega Foundation, the donor explained the presentation of the items was her modest contribution to the people that might not have someone to provide for them to enable them celebrate during the Yuletide.
The International Footballer said the donation was part of her dream to touch lives positively hence the establishment of her foundation ten years ago which had provided wheelchairs to people who could not walk and support to Internally Displaced persons in camps and orphanages.
Miss Ordega said she draws funding for her foundation from her salary saying it was to actualize her dreams and not for political gains and solicited prayers to enable her attain higher heights.
Earlier, father of the donor, Mr Ordega Ankele said the donation to the less privileged during the Christmas season was demonstration of love to her mothers during the festive period and sued for their sustained prayers for her daughter.
Also speaking, some officials of the foundation Hon. Ngutor Nongo and Haanya Aondoakura explained that organization for ten years has been responding to the plight of the needy and called for upliftment of the girl child which should start from home saying Miss Ordega is an ambassador of young women with focus and dogged zeal.
Three of the beneficiaries Hannah Agera, Kashimana Ndyuu and Yahemba Utusha expressed appreciation to Miss Ordega for chosen to celebrate with them to make the festivity purposeful to them.
The footballer entertained the audience with impressive cat dance steps and other traditional dances.
