Let there be justice for my son, Father begs Nigerian authorities

L-R: Tersoo’s father and Ukan Kurugh

By Ukan Kurugh

Tersoo until his demise was a peasant farmer, father of four and a pregnant wife. He was peaceful, quiet and his father’s favorite šŸ˜

Tersoo met his death in the hands of operatives of Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) on Friday, 19th September, 2020 on his way back from his wife’s house. Tersoo had gone to inform his in-laws about the demise of his mother, who is due for burial on 29th September. He was with the Okadaman that took him on the journey.

According to account by the okadaman, SARS operatives demanded for Fifty Naira from them, when they had nothing. Tersoo was detained with the motorcycle and the okadaman asked to go and get money to retrieve his motorcycle. Tersoo’s initial crime is that he intervened when SARS engaged the motorcycle owner. The motorcycle is still with the Police in Adikpo.

Tersoo’s lifeless body was discovered at the Kwande General Hospital Adikpo the following day. The explanation from the DPO was that he was carrying bullets and tobacco in his wallet. Worse, this revelation only came out yesterday after kinsmen had refused an initial offer of #200,000 from the police to foot burial bills and let the matter die!

His father is pleading there be justice for his poor son! Until his remains were discovered at the morgue, the police never agreed he was in their custody!

The boy’s uncle Mr DK Orzende can be reached on 0817 623 3263 since the father is not learned to speak english
