The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC for the 2023 general elections in Benue State Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia has called on his teaming supporters and indeed, all members of our great party, the APC to shun politics of acrimony and work diligently for the total victory of the party in the forthcoming general elections.
Fr. Alia stated this Saturday, August 20, 2022 while speaking at a mass decamping ceremony of thousands of people from PDP and SDP to the APC at RCM Primary School Abwa – Mbagen, Buruku Local government area of Benue State.
He said the Benue pot has since been broken and their is an urgent need to mould a new one, and the only way to mould it is through our individual and collective votes, adding that no one should be deceived into selling their voters’ cards to the PDP or any other party, since their plan is to destroy them thereby reducing the number of votes for the APC.
Fr. Alia stated further that campaigns are going to commence officially by October and there is every need for members of the party to improve on the already existing peace and unity within the party, advising that his supporters should avoid making utterances that would provoke other members of APC and injure the reconciliatory process the Party is already working on.
The governorship hopeful congratulated the decampees for their wise and thoughtful decision by leaving their previous party platforms and joining the APC.
He welcome them into the party where, he said they will surely harvest substantial dividends as against fake promises and treachery of their previous parties.
In their separate speeches, the leaders of the decampees, Hon. Paul Ioraor Aondowase and Hon. Atondo Bashi expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of PDP in the state, pointing out it’s inability to drive home the dividends that have long been vaunted by the people, hence they have now joined the APC which has fascinating policies and is so poised and ready to transform the sorry state of affairs in our state.
Other dignitaries at the event include, the Leader of APC in Benue State and Minister for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Sen. Dr. George Akume ably represented by Elder Simon Shango, the Zone B Senatorial candidate, Hon. Chief Titus Zam, Hon. Barr. Terfa Tyav, Hon.
