The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the 2023 General Elections, in Benue State, Very Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has pledged that his administration would eradicate incessant tax collections from innocent and poor citizens of the State, if elected as Governor.
Fr. Alia disclosed this Thursday October 13, 2022, while “Commissioning the Office, and Unveiling the Campaign Strategy”, of one of his Support Groups, ADVOCACY SUPPORT GROUP, at Logo 1, in Makurdi, the state capital.
He assured that his aspiration to tackle the daunting challenges, confronting the State, as a result of bad leadership, is to take off the challenges, on the shoulders of the people.
“Thank you for believing and trusting me, to deliver you, our families, and to deliver Benue State. Is very sad that where we are today, is never where God planned for Benue State. But the problem is that of LEADERSHIP. Whatever it is, God has already fixed the problem”, he said.
Chairman of the Support Group, Hon Terngu Anongo, who thanked Fr. Alia for always making himself available to the downtrodden, reiterated their unalloyed support for him, till they see their promised land.
“Your Excellency sir, be assured that we will not rest on our oars. We are with you, we will remain with you, even as the days ahead promises to be interesting. We hope that with God on our side, through our hard work, with the support of Benue people, our victory is already just a stone throw, closer”.
The Peoples’ Consensus Governorship Candidate, was decorated in a traditional attire, and offered prayers, by elders of the community, as a show of his acceptance and solidarity with him.
