Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has won the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for the second straight month, following a showstopping June for the Portuguese midfielder.
Bruno has played no small part in United’s recent resurgence that has some tentatively touting the club for a 2020/21 title challenge.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looked written off earlier this season but his January addition from Sporting CP has helped revitalise the club, who now look like a good bet to qualify for the Champions League.
His goal and assist against Aston Villa on Thursday took him to seven goals and six assists in just ten league matches. One of the best starts to a Premier League career…well, ever.
His antics before lockdown won him the final pre-Covid player of the month award, and having returned with a bang – helping United to an unbeaten June – he has become just the seventh player in the league’s history to retain the award.
Bruno and United continue their charge towards Europe with the visit of Southampton on Monday evening, knowing that a win would realistically put them to within three points of next season’s Champions League, assuming Man City’s ban is upheld.
