Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai has commissioned Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare to curb fake news and online radicalization targeted to Nigerian Army.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony in Abuja, Buratai said the cyber warfare will also sanitize and monitor unlawful activities by it’s personnel as well as protect cyber space of Nigeria.
According to COAS, the cyber warfare is the fifth domain after land, air and water.
The commander of the Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare, Brig. General, Thomas Unokhua while pledging his loyalty to do all it takes to actualise it’s mandate, noted that the warfare is barely a month old and the present site is temporal.
As it is, the warfare will empower the capability to fight fake news targeted at distablizing the peace and unity of Nigeria, he added.
