Experts and economic professionals will this week converge in Abuja to brainstorm on the Nigeria’s sustainable development at the 48th Annual Accountants’ Conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
The conference, theme: ‘Securing Our Shared Future: A Collective Responsibility,’ would be declared open by President Muhammadu Buhari, while Jim Ovia, Chairman, Zenith Bank Plc, and Babatunde Fowler Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, are among the paper presenters.
A statement signed by Bunmi Owolabi, Principal Manager, Corporate Communications, stated that the conference would offer a platform for professionals to chart a course for the future of Nigeria.
The statement noted that the theme was specifically chosen having realised that the Nigerian nation was richly endowed with human and natural resources, which had not been optimally leveraged to achieve sustainable development set out by its founding fathers.
The lead paper of the conference entitled: ‘Securing Our Shared Future: Avoiding the Tragedy of the Commons,’ would be delivered by Rachel Grimes, President of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
