A campaign group, Eunice Ortom Sons and Daughters Network 2019, had been inducted amidst excitement by supporters and admirers in Benue state.
Performing the induction ceremony of the State Working Committee/Local Government Coordinators and women leaders at the Old Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House Makurdi, the wife of the Governor of Benue state Dr Mrs Eunice Ortom charged the group to be focused, dedicated and prayerful in discharging their duties at all times.
She commended them for their unwavering support towards the adminstration of her husband, His Excellency Governor Samuel Ortom while promising to support them in making sure they succeed in all ramifications.
Earlier speaking the state coordinator of the group Hon. Philip Mbakuuv, said: “The Eunice Ortom Sons and Daughters Network 2019, which is a support initiative made up of vibrant men and women of proven integrity was borne out of their desire to canvass support from Benue electorates, enlighten them on the achievements and policies of Governor Samuel Ortom, through the extra ordinary achievements and supportive leadership role provided by his wife Dr. Mrs Eunice Ortom.
Hon. Ankyhuwa stated that, the time for true change Benue has ever longed for, has come through the leadership of Governor Samuel Ortom who has laid his life bare to be slaughtered for his people.
He noted some of the epochal achievements of the governor that has made him a world class leader as the signing of Anti Open Grazing Prohibition Bill into Law, Restructuring of the oldest institution which is the traditional council in the State, Massive construction and renovation of over 700 blocks of classrooms all across Benue state, Reaccreditation and complete renovation of School of Nursing and College of Health Technology Agasha, Entrenchment of sanity and prudence in governance, Massive boost in agricultural activities through soft loans, grants and subsidy on inputs, and the graduation of hitherto stagnated Benue Sate University medical students and the likes.
The state Coordinator equally commended the Governor’s wife for her uncommon humility, simplicity and complimentary role of touching the lives of the Benue people through her pet project , Eunice Spring of Life Foundation.
Making contributions during the ceremony,Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Prof John Ortyoyande, ALGON Chairman,Mr.Anthony Shawon,Hon.Vera Akua, Acting State Focal Person Social Investment, Terris Damsa and Otukpo LG chairman, Hon. George Ali both assured of their unalloyed support to the network both financially and otherwise,insisting that they were solidly behind Gov Samuel Ortom.
Other members of the State working Committee inducted were Hon. Amande Msughter Solomon Director Publicity/Coordinator Zone ‘A’, Hon. Mtom Isaac Director Contact and Mobilization/Coordinator zone ‘B’, Mr. Morgan Adikwu Director finance/Coordinator zone ‘C’, Hon. Julia Alache Ochai, Director Social Mobilization and the state Secretary Mr. Austine Nemba.
23 local government coordinators and 23 women leaders were also inducted and charged to carry the message to the grassroot.
