Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA) has graduated 44 students in different vocations in it’s Skills Acquisition Centre.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony Tuesday in Abuja, the President of the Association, Omobolanle Olonisakin charged the graduands to be bold and courageous and put to use what they have learnt.
“To the graduands, today marks the end of your training and what you have learnt while at the centre is to prepare you to face the challenges ahead”
She said 20 of the graduands are widows, as the program is to keep faith with the development of human capital in line with it’s objective of giving succour to the less privileged in the society, with particular emphasis on the widows of the fallen heroes.
As it is in it’s custom since the inception of the empowerment programme, participants are given various trade starter packs in their various fields of endeavour and financial assistance to secure a shop.
