Benue State Govt opens up more access roads in layouts

Benue State Ministry of Lands, Survey and Solid Minerals has opened up more access roads in some of its layouts in Makurdi, the State Capital.

During an inspection at Naka Mega layout phase 4 on Tuesday, the Lands Commissioner, Hon. Bernard Unenge represented by
the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr Steve Adah said, the state Government would continue to cause massive urbanisation across the state through the creation of layouts and access roads for rapid socio-economic development.

He commended the performance of MEDGIS Consult Professional Limited as partners.

The Commissioner explained that the current administration under the leadership of Governor Samuel Ortom inherited the layout design from the past Government and was implementing it to ensure continuity.

In a remark, Special Adviser to the Governor on Lands, Survey and Solid Minerals, Barr. Jacob Ogwuche described the work done so far as impressive. He said the access road was one of the projects being executed by the Governor.

Barr. Ogwuche further stated that the Consultant is working according to plan and he is optimistic that the locals would benefit when the job is fully completed.

Some of the locals including, elder Nicholas Iorungwa from Tse-Pever appreciated the state Government for a job well done..

Representative of MEDGIS Professional Consult Ltd, Mr Murphy Torbua said, 30 kilometers of the road have been opened up already and the remaining 30 kilometers would also be completed in few weeks before the rains fully set in, adding that the Naka mega layout phase 4 has over three thousand plots.

Torbua further stated that, the inspection visit by the Ministry would boost his morale and appreciated Governor Ortom for doing so much in road construction and effective Land administration

The MEDGIS representative also said, efforts by the state needs to be complemented through progressive partnership. He pointed out some roads constructed by the Governor, which include; the new road connecting Mobile Barracks-Welfare Quarters-Terwase Agbadu and Apir.
