
BRIEF ON MR KANGEH ANENGEH CEPHAS. FCIA, FOSHA, MFPAN
Mr. Kangeh Anengeh Cephas was born on the 9th Day of September 1964 in Agura Kchembe Danyi community of Turan in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State to Mr and Mrs Ijiirdoo Iliam Kangeh Anengeh as the first male child.
His Journey into the Academic world began in NKST Primary School Jato-Aka between 1971 to 1977 were he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. In 1977, he was admitted into NKST Secondary School Adikpo where he gained his Secondary education and obtained a General Certificate of Education (O, Level) in 1982.
Because of his quest for knowledge and passion for study, he went to the University of Jos, Plateau State between 1985 to 1989 where he bagged a Bachelor of Arts Hons degree in History and did his Youth Service at the then college of Education Nsugbe in Anambra State between 1989 and 1990. Between 2002 and 2003, he read for a Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) at the Benue State University, Makurdi.
After Youth service, his community elected him as a councilor on the platform of the then Social Democratic Party (SDP) which he also helped to victory in all elections. A Simple, Vibrant, Intelligent and socially inclined gentleman, this Icon of our time though very young, has contributed immensely to the development of his people, community and Nation in general and has touched the lives of many positively. His positive disposition and social inclination has brought him tremendous successes politically, socially and in his career.
Being a man of valor, he did not just end up his educational pursuance with his (MPA) degree; Mr. Cephas Kangeh pursued the membership of professional bodies where he became an Associate member of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in 1996.
In year 2000, he earned a membership of the Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals (NISP).
In 2010, he was conferred fellow Corporate Institute of Administration (ICA) and is also a Fellow of Occupational Safety and Health Association (UK) as well as Member, Fire Protection Association of Nigeria and Member, Historical Society of Nigeria.
He has held many prominent posts of responsibilities in his community, social clubs, Membership of Professional Bodies as well as companies where he rendered selfless and gallant service.
Between 1980 and 1982: He was Secretary General, current affairs & Debating Society and President, Arts club at NKST Secondary School Adikpo.
Between 1988 and 1990: He was Assistant Secretary, Jos University Historical Association (JUHA). AG. GEN. Secretary, Students Historical Society of Nigeria (SHSN) Plateau State Chapter and Lectured (NYSC) at the College of Education, Nsugbe-Anambra State.
Between 1992 and 1996: He worked as a Reporter/page editor, The Voice Newspapers (BPPCL) Makurdi. He was Personal Aide (On publicity and publication) to Hon. Minister of State, Fed. Ministry of Power and Steel, Ikoyi-Lagos. He was the Secretary, Turan Development Association (TUDA) Lagos Branch. He was Chapter Secretary-General, NUJ The Voice Chapter, Makurdi and also Member, SWEC. NUJ Benue State.
Between 1996 and 2000: He worked as an Assistant Manager, (P&A) NEPA CHQ. Lagos. He was Secretary General, Kwande United Peoples Organization (KWUPO) Adamawa State Branch. He was Chapter Secretary, National Union of Electricity Employee (NUEE). He also served as President of Kwande United Peoples Organization (Kwupo) Adamawa State branch for four years, during which he introduced Populist Welfare Policies including skills acquisitions and trades for free ladies who were members of the organization.
Between 2000 and 2006: He worked as the Zonal Safety Manager NEPA, Yola. He was Chapter Chairman National Union of Electricity Employee (NUEE) Yola for several years and also served the TIV community as the Secretary General, Bam u Mtem, an apex TIV social organization in Adamawa State.
Between 2006 and 2010: He was promoted to Senior Manager (OH&S) Yola zone, transferred to PHCN corporate Headquarters Abuja and later promoted to the position of Principal Manager Occupational Health and Safety. He was Secretary, Anti-Corruption and Transparency Committee PHCN Yola. He was Patron Community of TIV Students (CTS) FCE, Yola Branch and Patron, Mtem u Dooshima Association, Adamawa State.
From 2012 to present day: He has been promoted to the rank of Assistant General Manager (Occupational Health and Safety) and has risen to be the General Manager, Health, Safety and Environment at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
Besides these, Kangeh Anengeh Cephas has also held a number of Community, Church and Professional positions which include:
- Coordinating Secretary, PHCN HIV/AIDS Intervention programme in Yola zone,
- Secretary, Anti corruption and Transparency committee in PHCN Yola zone,
- Elder of NKST Jalingo.
- Supervised National Census of 1991 at Sabon Birni Local Govt. Area.
- Patron, community of Tiv students, Federal College of Education, Yola.
- Participated in the validation of the Draft National Action Plan for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).
- Participated in Data Analysis on Needs Assessment, Prioritization and Draft Sector Reports on the Nigerian floods in Rivers and Bayelsa States.
- Founding Secretary of Turan Development Association Abuja branch and is currently a Trustee of TUDA.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
- Employment of several Youths in NEPA/PHCN Yola Zone.
- Assisted in placements and sponsorship of several Youths into several Tertiary Institutions
- Renovation of a block of 4 class rooms at NKST Primary School Agura
- Sustenance of Community Clinic at Agura.
He is Married to Linda Ngukeghen Kangeh (Nee Nyitamen Koko) and they are blessed with beautiful children.
