A call has gone for officers and Men of the Army Headquarters Garrison to continue to be professional, responsive and to be hundred percent loyal.
Major General Felix Agugo made the call at the closing ceremony of the Army Headquarters Garrison Warrant Officers (WOS) and Senior Non Commissioned Officers (SNCOS) Competition 2018.
Major General Agugo who was the special Guest of Honour at the occasion said he was impressed by the spirit and the capacity displayed by the participants at the event.
“The good thing is that training is continues and training is helpful both for the mind and the body, the combat proficiency competition is both training and an assessment. It is training in the sense that there are series of rehearsals and trainings at units and individual levels in preparation for the competition which is an assessment.
“And the assessment gives the command an opportunity to understand the proficiency level of the troops. What we have witness today is that we can be proud of the senior Non Commissioned Officers and Warrant Officers of the Nigerian Army because they have shown a high level of proficiency” said Major General Ugogu.
Earlier in his opening Remarks, the Commander Army Headquarters Garrison, Major General JGK Miang, urged all the participants to compete in the spirit of sportsmanship.
Garrison Training Officer, Brigadier General Eric Angai who gave the vote of thanks expressed his profound appreciation to organisers and participants who took part in the week long competition.
Four teams took part in the combat proficiency competition and assessment which involved about seven obstacle courses.
At the end of the activities, Team A with a Red colored banner earned a total of 76 points to take 3rd position, Team B with a Green banner got a total 260 points to come in 2nd place while the overall winner Team C under a Yellow banner got 405 points to take the 1st position.
At the end of the competition, trophies and other prizes were awarded to the participants.
