The Abuja airport has been re-opened following the partial closure of runway 22, after an incident involving a Gulfstream 4 aircraft being operated by Skybird that overshot the runway while landing.
Consequently, the aircraft got stuck on the Runway End Safety Area (RESA).
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reopened the runway to take arrivals and departures, subject to a reduced threshold of 3000metres.
“The authority will like to assure airlines and passengers that the airport is safe for normal operations.
“The management has reiterated tgat FAAN is committed to her core values of Safety, Security and Comfort”, it was emphasized.
