Air Peace Makurdi
The entirety of the local investments and the economy of Benue cannot sustain the continuous flow of air traffic to Makurdi.
What do we produce? Nothing! Who is coming to invest? Nobody! What are the juicy and inviting incentives for investment? None!
The cheapest flight costs 23100 which is several thousands less than the minimum wage. Very few people can pay that sum talk more of a return ticket at 47100. Very very few people in Benue are airborne twice in a whole year. These people celebrating this development cannot sustain it by travelling.
Peradventure the authorities in Lafia were considered as partners one would assume an increase in the traffic hence a greater possibility of sustainability.
This one like the failed cargo airport is dead on arrival unless government wants to pay for every empty seat on the aircraft for every flight, money it obviously doesn’t have. This is an elitist agreement and it remains unsustainable.
My point is simple: Folks can afford it but they are very few. Quote me anywhere.
Samuel Ortom of SDP
Let him come. He will vie fair and square and justice should be done him. Nobody should be denied fair play. As an opposition party, we cannot and will not stop him. Let them all come. Why not?
That’s the beauty of democracy. It’s also not a guarantee for anything so long as the will of the people subsists at the polls. No manner of cross carpeting can edit a battered image neither can it erase the record of cluelessness and abundant failure that is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. The people are wiser now and awake. Never should you reinforce failure. The story at that point will be to trade blames when indeed the marriage was enjoyed and the state was pillaged for over 3 years in absolute convenience.
Emmanuel Jime of Miyetti Allah
I have watched with amazement how government media has taken on PMB. I totally agree. Jime is gunning for the ticket and he becomes a Miyetti Allah sponsored candidate. In 24 hours, Jime was accused, tried and sentenced by our fragile and gullible social media space.
This is a very well designed and drafted script to kill his ambition without another primaries as was done in 2019. Knowing that he will vie in the APC, it was negatively wise to terminate his ambition before it gained momentum. Of course the Presidency is not smiling at GSO and understandably in our interest over his responses and handling of our predicament in the hands of Fulani herdsmen.
Apart from that, what has he done to lay claim to Government House for another four years? Nearly nothing. If friendship with the Presidency is a sin then we know who to punish. No doubt Jime will battle with the stigma of his purported Miyetti Allah sponsorship and the people’s weariness with the APC but it is only appropriate to place these in proper perspective.
